Healthcare
Stem cell research:
Stem cell research is the research of stem cells. These cells help scientists discover more about the human body and test drugs without harm. Stem cells can be obtained from bone marrow or an embryo. Researching stem cells helps scientists discover treatments and cures to deathly diseases, like cancer. While there are many cons that cause stem cell research to be illegalized, the ability to understand the human body and disease immensely helps medical institutes. Even though stem cell research is legal, it is heavily restricted and not well funded. This makes it hard for scientists to experiment and research the cells. Stem cell research should have less restrictions and better funding.
Free Healthcare for all:
Free Healthcare is when you don't have to pay to go to the hospital. This sounds like it would always be a good thing and I agree, however there are some things that could go wrong with it like It could weaken the economy and make it harder for doctors and nurses. However, being able to pay for getting the care you need is something that all people deserve and that they don’t deserve to have to pay 40,000 dollars for breaking a leg. We can see how it would make us better and healthier. And make it like we don’t all go to the hospital when we need to because we don’t want to pay for it.

$15/hr.:
Poverty is a huge issue everywhere in the world. In the United States we at least have minimum wage but it’s not enough to support one person. With a minimum wage of $15/hr., it would enough to support one person, but many small businesses would go bankrupt in the process. We can raise the minimum wage so people can support themselves but not so high that businesses cannot handle it. We can also make pay equal for all people such as tipped workers, people under 20 for the first 90 days, and disabled workers. This way everyone is supported.
SATS:
SATs are standardized tests that juniors take to get into college. In most colleges, this is all that they look at to see if they want the student. This means that depending on how well they do on a forced test, almost no resources to help them prepare/study. If you do not think about the SATs it seems like a reasonable way to test students’ knowledge. However, if you put yourself in the shoes of a student then you could see that it is not the best way to see if they should get into college or not. This is because when taking a test many students get overwhelmed and they end up not doing as well on the test as they would doing an assignment with the same content. Another con is that the SATs do not withhold the content in which they are going to college for, like if a student is planning to go to college to major in art and they do not do well on the SATs then the college will not even consider them. To solve this problem we, the Red Ant Party, think that there should be multiple projects for the colleges to consider.

Conflict Minerals:
Conflict minerals are minerals that are used for many of the things we use every day however the problem is that some of these minerals are from “conflict areas” which are places where people are forced to mine these minerals or to get killed. Many people have died because of this, and many more lives have been changed forever families have been broken apart and some may never see them again. This mostly happens in areas with little government control or where some of the people form rebel groups because they feel like they could run things better than the government could.
Human trafficking:
Human trafficking has been going on for hundreds of years. The first example of this would be the African slave trade where American and European continents would go capture people from Africa to trade and sell them. This was only the start, over the hundreds of years, human trafficking has modified and changed, but never seemed to stop. Now with all the technology and social media, finding victims has become a lot easier. The problem is in places like gas stations, rest stops, airports, and malls, human traffickers feel like they can get away with taking or trading their victims. By increasing the amount of first responders, police, and security in those areas, with specific training on recognizing possible victims and how to safely separate them from the abuser, it could prevent possible victims or help the people who are already victims.
Gun control:
Gun violence is nothing new in the United States. Though mass shootings are scary and in the spotlight of gun violence, they are definitely not the leading cause of death. In 2015, gun suicides killed 22,000 Americans and gun related homicides killed 13,000 people; mass shootings killed 46 people. Lots of people are dying due to the gun violence in the United States, many people who own guns are uneducated on how to properly contain guns and use guns. By requiring people to go through a class on gun safety, this may provide people the support they need to own a gun, but also keep everyone else safe.

Iranian Backed Terror:
Iran is known as a state sponsor of terrorism. Over the past decades, Iran has supported several terrorist groups like al-Qaeda, Kata’ib Hizballah, and Hamas. Either by giving them supplies, money, and weapons, or allowing them to shelter in Iran from other countries. While there is no easy solution to Iranian backed terror, there are ways to help. By having the US and other countries cease or reduce the imports of military equipment to Iran is one of them. If Iran has less military equipment, they won’t be able to easily supply terrorist groups. This will put pressure on Iran to stop the backing of terrorist groups. The money previously used to manufacture weapons and ship them to Iran can be used for other issues. Like funding scientific research, creating better jail and school systems, or sheltering refugees.
Mexican Drug Cartels:
The Mexican Drug Cartels have been transporting drugs and weapons of the US Mexican border for decades. This has caused many drug problems especially in high populated areas. We can only do so much because the cartels have a lot of influence on the Mexican government. Most cartels have money in U.S. banking system, and we have access to those accounts. We can also cease making deals with cartels like other have in the past. This will help the drug and illegal firearms problem in the U.S.
Helping the North Korean People:
The North Korean people are living in life-threatening conditions, they have absolutely no freedom and they have no knowledge to what the world outside of North Korea looks like. If the United States increased its diplomatic relationship with North Korea than the United States could help the people of North Korea as we could send food packages and safety niceties. Along with many other benefits that this would bring ultimately the United States would be helping the people. The Red Ant Party wants to help the people of North Korea and help turn around their living conditions
